What “free” means here
Free here means free. Read it, download it, print a class set, change it to fit your room, and perform it on your stage — at no cost, with no account, and nothing held back behind a sign-up. The terms are short and plain on the license page.
If a resource saved you time, you can leave an optional contribution — pay what you want. It is a tip for the people who wrote and checked the work, never a requirement, and the whole library stays free whether you give or not.
Where it comes from
Original work, or verified public domain
Everything here is either material our own teachers wrote or a work that is in the public domain. We do not host anyone else’s copyrighted material. For older plays and texts, we host the exact edition we have checked is in the public domain — not a modern, copyrighted translation. If we cannot verify that a work is free to share, we do not publish it.
Where a lesson lists standards, we have aligned it to them ourselves and offer the mapping as a starting point. It is our alignment, not a review or endorsement by any standards body or state.
To start, the library covers general subjects: language arts, the public-domain literary and dramatic canon, math, science, history, and the arts. Sensitive or place-specific topics are not published here yet; when they are, they will be turned on only where they fit and stay off by default everywhere else.
The paid version
When you want the rest of the school, there is Homeroom
Free School Core is the free library, and it stays that way. Homeroom is the paid platform from the same company that runs the rest of the school on one shared system — the yearbook and student publications, picture day, student records, fundraising, and family messages. If the free lessons earned your trust, that is where the paid product lives.
