License and rights
Short and plain. Everything in the library is free to use, and these are the terms that make it free — what you can do, where the work comes from, and the limits we are honest about.

What you can do
- Use these materials in your classroom and at school events.
- Copy and print as many as your students, cast, and crew need.
- Adapt them — shorten, extend, reorder, or rework them to fit your room.
- Perform the plays in class or at a school production.
- Share them with other teachers; a credit to Free School Core is appreciated, not required.
- Keep using them. There is no expiration, no renewal, and no account.
What we ask
- Please do not repackage and resell these materials as your own paid product.
- Please do not pass our original work off as someone else’s, or strip the edition note from a public-domain work.
Where the work comes from
Every work here is one of two things: material our own teachers wrote, or a work that is in the public domain. We do not host anyone else’s copyrighted material.
- Verified editions only. For an older play or text, we host the exact edition we have checked is in the public domain — not a modern, copyrighted translation or adaptation.
- When in doubt, we leave it out. If we cannot confirm a work is free to share, we do not publish it.
- We keep the receipts. For each work we keep a record of where it came from and how we confirmed it is free to share, so a question about any title has a real answer.
Standards
Where a lesson or unit lists standards, we have aligned it to them ourselves and offer the mapping as a starting point. It is our alignment — it has not been reviewed or endorsed by any standards body, state, or agency. Check it against your own requirements before you rely on it.
Subjects we publish
To start, the library covers general subjects: language arts, the public-domain literary and dramatic canon, math, science, history, and the arts. Sensitive or place-specific topics are not published here yet. When they are, they will be turned on only in the places where they are appropriate and stay off by default everywhere else.
Optional support
Free School Core is run by Stanley Studios, a for-profit company, and the library is free to use whether you give anything or not. If a resource saved you time, you can leave an optional contribution — pay what you want. Think of it as a tip for the people who wrote and checked the work. It is never required, nothing is locked behind it, and the full library is yours either way.
